Megan's Final Project Idea

I am thinking about focusing on my project on communication capitalism within prisons. There are three companies that rule the high priced phone calls between inmates and the outside world. I believe my website is going to be an exaggerated combination of their websites to emphasis the unjust costs demanded and the vicious cycles that they create.

Kandace's Final Proposal

For my final project, I want to focus on online deception via social media either for relationship-building (partnership/romantic or friendship), entertainment or even malicious (revenge or monetary) reasons.

My idea is to have a video, specifically one where you can watch it and not catch on to the meaning if you're not paying attention (but where it is also easy enough to be understood if you are), be the highlight and attention-grabber on the main page of the website. The other pages are going to 1) break the video down to explain the meanings and symbolism, 2) function as a statistics page relating to today's world and 3) provide a list of ways to avoid it (at least, as much as possible).

Serena's Final Project Proposal

Many parts of the world are highly reliant upon technology, so what do you do if you don’t have access to it? People who can’t access certain technologies are missing out on opportunities and information, which creates obstacles that more privileged people don’t have to face. Getting a job, communicating, and keeping up with important news all become difficult tasks.

My project will focus on this concept of living an analog life in a digital world.
